LGR is like March Madness (a digression)

I’ve been watching a lot of NCAA men’s basketball recently (and a little bit of women‘s basketball). I see in college basketball a metaphor for what happens in LGR. Please humor me as I offer a few examples:

The determination to be victorious is like the commitment of LGR Fellows and the LGR office to success for all LGR high school students.

The intangible life lessons that basketball players learn on the court are like the lessons that LGR Fellows learn from their LGR experiences.

The leadership of team captains and seniors is like the leadership that Site Directors and Co-Directors exemplify in LGR.

I don’t want to get carried away with this, but the examples set by teams like Duke, George Mason, and Bradley--teams that are all about effort and heart--are ones to aspire to. Go George Mason Patriots! AND GO LGR!
