Selecting Practice SAT Diagnostic Tests

In most LGR programs, the Site Director selects three tests from the Official SAT Study Guide for practice SAT siagnostics. Coaches are instructed not to assign homework problems from these tests. Oftentimes, students are directed to rip out the answer keys before the proctoring begins, so as to eliminate the temptation to peek at the answers (what’s known as cheating). Ambitious Site Directors do the ripping out before providing the books to students.

But, you may be thinking, what about students who may try practice problems from the tests selected for diagnostics? And also, isn’t ripping out the answer keys condescending and time-consuming? The Manhattan LGR program has come up with a new great way to proctor SAT diagnostics that avoids these potential pitfalls. Lina, the Site Director, plans to photocopy one of the new tests from The College Board’s Online SAT Course. This is an excellent idea, assuming you have the printing and photocopy capacity to do it. If it works so much better than the previous way, LGR will start to ship to sites the photocopied tests.
