Preparing for College...on TV

This Monday, I caught the end of The Scholar, ABC’s new reality tv show about high achieving high school students competing for a four year full-ride scholarship. I was impressed with the contestants, who are the stars of the show. They are not the least bit nerdy, and they flirt and fight like Real World cast members and make academic competitiveness and having college aspirations cool. LGR gives a shout out to Milana, the Queens resident and Bronx High School of Science student who has already secured a spot in the final round. I heard though that ratings are horrible, especially in comparison to Beauty & the Geek…
