Breakfast at the LGR Headquarters

This past Wednesday morning, we in the LGR office at The College Board kicked off the summer by hosting a Counselor Breakfast. A guidance counselor from Mt. Vernon High School, a counselor from Stamford High School, and the executive director of our partner organization in Long Island City, Queens attended, along with an LGR Fellow from each of these programs. The meeting was similar to the Big Huge Meeting that Harvard LGR Co-Director Lina Jun wrote about.

The meeting focused on the student recruitment process and was the beginning of the summer student outreach efforts. During the next few weeks, Site Directors and Co-Directors for College Choice will be spreading word about the LGR oportunity to more counselors, teachers, principals, community organizations, parents, and students themselves. It's great to have a couple counselors really exciting and involved, and I believe that the counselors were glad to have the opportunity to visit the College Board and learn more about Let's Get Ready!
