The New SAT
Today, I had a salad with raisins in it. Who would have thought that raisins in salad would taste so good? Yummy!...But this is not a food blog, so back to LGR...
This afternoon, I sent a mass email to 700+ past and present LGR coaches. It included a brief "article" on the New SAT:
1600 is no longer the perfect score. As of March, it will be 2400.
The new SAT, which will be administered for the first time on March 12th, includes three sections (Math, Critical Reading, and Writing) rather than two (Math and Verbal). The new Writing section includes a 25-minute essay. The College Board made changes to the test so that it would better reflect what students learn in high school and what they need to know and be able to do in order to be successful in college.
LGR's Spring 2005 programs are using new SAT curriculum, and coaches are adjusting well to coaching for an SAT test that they themselves did not take.
